The City of Seattle is updating its Comprehensive Plan to guide how the City will grow and what kind of city we want to be. The City has released a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) evaluating four growth alternatives.

As one of the country’s fastest growing large cities over the past decade, Seattle saw rapidly escalating rents and housing prices. This has placed low-income households and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities at increasing risk of displacement.

The Heightened Displacement Risk Indicators presented here offer a greater understanding of who is most affected by displacement and where these pressures are currently concentrated, providing community members and policymakers with an important tool to inform Seattle's ongoing fight against displacement.
