Digital Art in Writing

Digital Art can normally be perceived as strictly belonging to creative careers, but it can be found in others that may be more educationally motivated. For example, even though digital art isn’t the surrounding topic of professional writing careers, it’s still significant and relevant. An example of a career path that may implement digital art is technical writing, a career that is surrounded by the development of manuals, white papers, Standard operating procedures, case studies, etc. Not only are there multiple different types of documents technical writers work with, but there are many different topics involved.

This is a career that focuses on helping an audience or user understand a product/document. It puts efforts making sure information is concise and clear by paying close attention to the language, structure, visuals, and aesthetic used in the document. Plain language plays a huge role in a technical writer's career because of the need for straightforwardness. Along with focusing on language, correcting grammar and formatting is also important.

When it comes to a technical writer’s career, there needs to be intentional research done for the specific documents they may be working on. Accuracy is the main objective since this is a user centered career field. Not only does there need to be research done on the actual document topic, but also on the budget, requirements, schedule, collaboration, editing, and communication for the project. These documents involve a lot of writing, but there is also a need for visuals that correlate with digital art to give further understanding to users. Visuals allow individuals to be more engaged and add to the appropriate aesthetic for the document. These visuals could be diagrams, charts, annotated screenshots, etc. Technical writers play a huge role in today's society and it wouldn't be possible within digital art!
